Takaka Fuels & Fishing
As you drive into Takaka the first fuel stop you come to is Takaka Fuels & Fishing. John & Susan Sheridan have owned the garage for 16 years and as its name suggests they sell a lot more than just fuel.
“I enjoy it because we sell hunting and fishing gear, which is an interest of mine,” he says. “We are really a fuel station come toy store – that’s big boy’s toys!”
Takaka Fuels & Fishing is the place to go for fishing rods, ammo and local information on the best fishing spots in the Bay or where to go for a bit of hunting.
There is easy access to the site and, as a community service, John has a caravan dump station available for visitors.
