NPD confirms that the retail store operations at seven sites will transition to the Night ‘n Day network.
Kiwi-owned fuel company NPD Ltd has confirmed that the retail store operations at seven sites will transition to the Night ‘n Day network.
Importantly, NPD will continue to own and operate the fuel forecourts at these locations, which will remain open as 24/7 Premium Self Serve sites, ensuring customers can continue to access the same trusted NPD fuel at competitive prices.
The transition means the convenience store operations and fuel operations will become two separate businesses, with Night ‘n Day taking over the retail convenience stores while NPD continues to focus on fuel supply and delivering competitive pricing for customers.
As these sites transition to the Self Serve model, previously available discounts – including SuperGold Card, supermarket dockets, Corrections, Defence, and Student discounts – will no longer apply. Instead, all customers will benefit from NPD’s competitive Self Serve pricing, along with regular Discount Day promotions.
The sites included in the transition are:
- NPD Lower Queen St
- NPD Redwood
- NPD Yaldhurst
- NPD Moorhouse Ave
- NPD Rolleston
- NPD Frankton
- NPD Waimea
NPD CEO Barry Sheridan says the move strengthens the company’s ability to focus on its core mission of delivering competitive fuel prices for all motorists.
“Night ‘n Day is a strong fit. They’re a nationwide, family-owned business with values that align closely with ours, and we’re confident they’ll continue delivering a great convenience offering for customers. This transition allows NPD to sharpen our focus on what we do best – providing Kiwis with quality fuel at competitive prices through our growing Self Serve network, while Night ‘n Day brings its expertise in convenience retailing to these locations.”
“This is an exciting opportunity for Night ‘n Day. There are a lot of similarities between the two businesses – both have strong South Island roots, a customer-first approach, and are built around quality local operators. These are high-quality sites with excellent fit-outs and standards that complement the Night ‘n Day brand extremely well. We see real value in bringing together successful elements from both businesses as the sites evolve over time, while continuing to strengthen our South Island network and local convenience offering.” – Matthew Lane, Night ‘n Day General Manager.
The transition will take place over the coming period, with customers continuing to be served without disruption. Existing fuel services will remain unchanged, with all sites continuing to operate as NPD 24/7 Premium Self Serve locations.
